Heart Lockets For Christmas

Hearts symbolize love. A locket is a gift of love.

One great way to celebrate christmas with your other half is to go on a romantic date. When you pick her up, give her a precious heart shaped locket. Open it up to reveal a personal gift or photo hidden inside the locket.

Then gently fasten it around her neck for her.

That's just like a scene right out of a romance movie.

Heart lockets need not be expensive.

You can get a gorgeous gold heart locket set with crystals for as low as $19.90 (originally $64)

You'll find that at more among these heart locket discounts

Lockets, platinum or not, make excellent Christmas gifts for your loved ones. These are sentimental gifts that can hold a treasured photo in it.

Originally, lockets would hold a lock of hair of one's sweetheart, to remember by when far apart.

Now, lockets can hold photos. A photo of mom, held by her child. A family photo worn by mom and dad.

Here's where you can get lockets on sale

Victorian necklaces

Imagine the beauty of a lady in the Victorian times, at a ball. Something Cinderella might wear.

A princess at a ball, adorned with glorious diamonds around her neck.

Imagine turning heads when you walk into a room. The oohs and aahs and envious glances of the women around you as the necklace you wear makes you simply stunning.

Brand new, though its design is like that of an antique. As if someone hopped into a time machine and snagged that necklace, to sell it in this century.

Chantecaille's CZ Victorian Necklace

How much do you think that will cost?

If it were made of diamonds and platinum, it would be beyond the reach of anyone who is not of royal blood.
But in spite of its looks, it is kind of affordable, on the pricey side, no doubt, but something attainable it you save up for it.

Elaborate necklaces

I don't really what you call these things. Hankerchief necklaces since they are triangular and go round the neck like a fabric of diamonds, like the kerchief cowboys wore around their necks in the old movies?

Whatever you call them, I love them. They are stunning.

Fred Leighton Inspired Sterling Silver Diamond CZ Bridal Icicle Pendant Necklace

This is a Fred Leighton Inspired Sterling Silver Diamond CZ Bridal Icicle Pendant Necklace which though doesn't cost anywhere near the price of a necklace like this made of diamonds, it doesn't exactly come cheap either.
Then again, it would look stunning when you really want to dress up. It turns a simple black dress into something totally oscar-worthy.

I think I'm already drooling over it.

Oh yeah. This is supposed to be a blog about platinum lockets. You'll find plenty of older posts about platinum, silver and white lockets in the archives. I'll change the look and feel so you can access the platinum locket posts directly on every page later.

From now on, I want to go beyond lockets and pendants and talk about image changing necklaces.

The other day, I saw a Chanel ad with a model wearing nothing on top except what looked like an elaborate necklace, worn like a halter top of jewels. A myriad of jewlled crosses cascaded to form a backless top of jewelry which reached down to her waist. Now that is my dream necklace.

I love jewels. Always have, always will.

As a student, I'd get over boredom by making jewelry in my hostel room. I'd end up with a bag of jewelry which I'd sell for the fun of it, to other students in campus. Then I'd use the proceeds to buy more materials to make jewelry with. To me, jewelry is a passion.

Necklaces, for one, can transform your entire look. A frumpy dress can turn stunning with the addition of just one necklace, but that has to be a really gorgeous necklace to cause a turn around like that.

The necklace I showed at the start of the post is one such accessory. It makes a strapless dress look like a halter top. That is also the type of necklace to wear when you want to turn heads.

By the way, if you are big or tall, the jewelry you wear should be chunky also so that they would not get lost on you. You can take the really stunning pieces.

Here's another beauty.

Totally red-carpet-worthy. Looks great with a little black dress too.

I find this necklace charming

Great for a date too. What do you think?

The Perfect Everyday Necklace.

What can you wear with your evening gown, on a date, when you go shopping, when you go to work, when you go out on errands or even to bed?

My vote goes to a simple pendant on a chain. The simpler the better.

In the olden days before photos were inveneted, people would wear lockets containing a lock of hair of their loved one close to the heart, to remember that loved one by. Later, those separated from their loved ones might wear lockets with photos of their loved ones in it to keep the cherished close to them in thoughts.

For sentimental reasons, I'd say a locket.

For vanity, or just to look great at all times, I'd suggest a solitary diamond, worn at the base of your neck against your skin because it somehow makes you look radiant. It is very classy, subtle and makes you look more beautiful.
Have this
Radiant Diamond set in a pendant on a chain and you have the perfect necklace you can wear at all times.

Floral white gold lockets

I found some new lockets that are gorgeous and yet affordable.

Platinum is expensive and white gold looks a lot like platinum, is still precious but more affordable.

With that in mind, white gold lockets sound like a better buy. What with the economy the way it is, the idea is to get the look we want at a fraction of the expected price.

What do you think of these lockets?

Silver might look similar but white gold wouldn't tarnish. I like the blue within the locket. The colors go very well on someone with cool skin tones. It would go perfectly with a navy suit.
The flowers engraved on it, the intricate design, makes it all prettier.

Compare it with this

The colored flowers are a refreshing change from most jewelry. Not gemstones but more like enamel. I'd imagine a talented artist painting it on.

Which do you prefer?
